Dr. Staci Young

Dr. Young was born and raised in the metro-east and graduated from Granite City High School. She graduated magna cum laude from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in biology and went on to receive her Medical Doctorate from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, where she graduated first in her class and earned a junior and senior membership in Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society

Dr. Young completed her residency training in pediatrics at St. Louis Children’s Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine in 2005. Just a year later, she opened Young Pediatrics in November 2006 and has enjoyed watching the practice and her patients grow over the years

Dr. Young lives in Edwardsville, IL with her husband and best friend, Scott, where they are embracing being “free-birds” as their three young adult children are thriving in college and new careers. She loves missions and travel and enjoys reading and scrapbooking photos of friends and family. She continues to love spending time with her kids in this new season of life, and is dedicated to pursuing her own passions in advocacy to help find solutions to disparities in healthcare and education for children.

In addition to running Young Pediatrics, Dr. Young serves as the Co-Chief of the Section on Community Pediatrics at St. Louis Children’s Hospital Washington University School of Medicine. She also serves on the Communications Committee at SLCH, working hard on both to improve healthcare for her patients and the children of our community. In the past several years she has begun working with the IL AAP to advocate for the specific needs of children in central and southern Illinois and serves on the Illinois Pediatric Mental Health Advisory Council. She also continues to work with a medical mission team to serve the people of Haiti.

Through her work at Young Pediatrics, as well as regionally and globally, Dr. Young hopes to help build the steps to a brighter future for all children. She loves being a part of your children’s lives and is honored to have the privilege of caring for them and partnering with you as they grow.
